ADHD screening (DSM-5)

Tanvirul Alam carries out structured ADHD screening for children and adolescents using the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria published by the American Psychiatric Association. The screening looks at three areas: inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. Working to a recognised diagnostic standard matters here, because ADHD is easy to mistake for ordinary restlessness or a discipline problem, and a proper assessment tells you which one you are dealing with.

Assessment services

A full psychological assessment with Tanvirul Alam is ৳5,000. This covers the testing session and a written report. A standard counselling session is ৳3,000.

Availability

He sees clients in person only on Monday and Wednesday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at Green Road, Dhaka. He does not currently offer online sessions. If you need an online session, our team can match you with another psychologist.

Background

Tanvirul holds an M.Phil and an MS in Clinical Psychology from the University of Dhaka, and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Rajshahi. He completed clinical training at the Student Counselling and Guidance Office, University of Dhaka. He has worked as a tele-counsellor with Sajida Foundation, as an educational psychologist with Dnet on adolescent health camps across eight divisions, and as a psychologist at Mohammadpur Preparatory School and College. He has also supervised para-counsellors in humanitarian settings. He is a member of the Bangladesh Clinical Psychology Society and works in Bangla and English.
