In plain language: a psychological assessment is a structured session with a clinical psychologist. They use standard tests, careful questions and observation to understand attention, learning, thinking or social communication. You leave with a clear answer and practical next steps, not just a label.

6Feeling driven, as if by a motor
4 or more shaded answers: a full ADHD assessment is worth doing. For adults we also use the CAARS rating scales and the DIVA-5 interview; for children, the Conners parent scale and play-based observation.
IQ test · WASI-II
How IQ scores are spread
Scores compare a person with others of the same age. The average is 100, and about two in three people score between 85 and 115.
The report explains the overall score and the verbal and non-verbal parts, so you see strengths as well as difficulties.
Autism · ADOS-2
One of five modules, matched to the person
The psychologist picks the module by age and spoken language, then observes play, conversation and social interaction for about 40 to 60 minutes.
Toddler module12 to 30 monthsFew or no words
Module 1From about 2½ yearsNo regular phrases yet
Module 2Any ageShort phrases, not yet fluent
Module 3Children and young teensFluent speech
Module 4Older teens and adultsFluent speech
These tools support the psychologist’s judgement. No single score or questionnaire gives a diagnosis on its own.
For parents
Child assessment: when to consider it
Many parents come to us after a teacher’s comment or a worrying report card. An assessment shows what is going on and what will help at home and at school.
Attention
Cannot finish homework, loses things, drifts off in class.
Behaviour
Cannot sit still, interrupts, acts before thinking.
Learning
Works hard but falls behind, or seems far ahead of classmates.
Social
Late speech, little eye contact, finds change very hard.
What to bring: recent school reports or teacher’s notes, any earlier reports, and a short list of what worries you. For children, a parent or guardian comes along.

Which assessment do I need?
Trouble with focus and restlessness points to an ADHD assessment. School performance or ability points to an IQ test. Worries about speech, social contact or routines point to an autism assessment. If you are unsure, message us on WhatsApp and we will suggest one.
Can I do the assessment online?
The ADHD assessment can be online or in person. IQ tests and autism assessments are in person only, in Dhaka or Sylhet, because they need proper test conditions and face-to-face observation.
How much does a psychological assessment cost in Bangladesh?
At Chum the ADHD assessment is ৳5,000 online or ৳5,500 in person, the IQ test starts from ৳7,000 depending on the psychologist, and the autism assessment is ৳5,000. One fixed fee, paid after we confirm your time.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No. You can book directly. If a school or doctor asked for the assessment, bring their note so the psychologist can focus on their question.
Is the assessment confidential?
Yes. Your information and your report are shared only with you, and with others only if you ask us to.
