Meet your 3 psychologistsIn plain language: An IQ test measures how a person reasons, remembers, understands language and processes information. A professional IQ assessment uses internationally standardised tests, is given one-to-one by a trained psychologist, face to face, and ends with a report explaining strengths, difficulties and what to do next. It is very different from an online quiz.
The test
We use the WASI-II (Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence, Second Edition), an internationally standardised Wechsler test for ages 6 to 89. It gives a reliable overall IQ score in a single, shorter session.
Vocabulary and seeing how ideas and words are alike: reasoning with language.
Working out patterns and solving visual puzzles without relying on words.
A full-scale IQ, plus separate verbal and non-verbal scores that show where strengths and difficulties lie.
The report explains each score in plain language, compares it with others of the same age, and sets out practical next steps.
Understanding the score
IQ scores are set so that the average is 100. Most people, about two in three, score between 85 and 115. The score compares a person with others of the same age, so a 7-year-old and a 40-year-old are each compared with their own age group.
A single number never tells the whole story. Your report also shows verbal and non-verbal scores, because a gap between them often explains why someone finds school or work harder than expected.
When it helps
A child struggles at school despite effort, and parents want to understand why.
A child seems far ahead of classmates and may need more challenge.
A cognitive profile helps a psychologist understand the full picture alongside an ADHD assessment.
Choosing the right school, subjects or support plan based on clear evidence.
Understanding your own strengths and difficulties for study, work or personal clarity.
Try it
Six quick puzzles similar in spirit to the reasoning tasks in a real IQ test. Have a go, then see the answers.
This is practice, not an IQ test. It gives no IQ score. A real IQ test is standardised for your age and given one-to-one by a psychologist.
Nice work. Remember: puzzles like these show nothing about your real IQ. Mood, sleep, practice and even the language of a question all change how people do on a quiz. A professional assessment controls for those things and compares you fairly with people your age.
How it works
Five steps from booking to a written report. The test itself is one sitting with a clinical psychologist, in person in Dhaka or Sylhet.
Choose the psychologist and the place: Dhaka or Sylhet, in person. Tell us the age of the person and why you want the test.
Why the test is wanted and, for children, schooling and development. Children are put at ease first.
Vocabulary, Similarities, Block Design and Matrix Reasoning: word knowledge, verbal reasoning, visual puzzles and patterns.
Results are compared with people of the same age in the WASI-II standardisation sample.
Full-scale IQ, verbal and non-verbal scores, what they mean in daily life, and practical next steps.

Know the difference
Free online IQ quizzes are fun, but they are not standardised for age, are not supervised, and cannot be used for school, clinical or diagnostic decisions. A professional assessment uses tests normed on large populations, is given under controlled conditions by a trained psychologist, and explains what the scores mean for real life.
For parents
Parents usually ask for an IQ test when a child is working hard but results do not match the effort, when a teacher raises a concern, or when a child seems far ahead of classmates. The test can be done from age 6.

No. The IQ test is done in person only, so the psychologist can give the WASI-II under proper test conditions. You can come to Dhaka (Green Road, Mohammadpur or Dhanmondi) or Sylhet. Any therapy or follow-up afterwards can be online.
Not on its own. An IQ test shows a cognitive profile, which a psychologist combines with history and other assessments. For attention concerns, see our ADHD assessment.
Yes. Results are shared only with you, and with a school or doctor only if you choose to share them.
The average IQ score is 100. About half of people score between 90 and 109, which is described as average, and about two in three score between 85 and 115.
From age 6. The WASI-II we use covers ages 6 to 89 and compares each person with others of the same age.
No. You can book directly. If a school or doctor has asked for the test, bring their note so the psychologist can focus on their question.
Not for real decisions. Online quizzes are not standardised for age and are not supervised, so their scores cannot be used for school, clinical or diagnostic purposes. The practice puzzles on this page are for fun only and give no IQ score.
Adult scores are usually fairly stable. Children’s scores can shift as they grow and learn, so a child’s result describes how they are doing now, not a fixed limit.
