Code of Ethics & Professional Standards
The ethical standards every Chum psychologist works to.
Every psychologist at Chum Wellness works to a clear code of ethics. This is how we keep your care safe, respectful and professional.
Qualified, verified professionals
Our therapists hold recognised psychology qualifications and are matched to clients only after their credentials are checked, never as anonymous listings. See Credentials & Verification.
Evidence-based practice
Therapists use recognised, evidence-based approaches suited to your needs, and continue professional development to keep their practice current.
Compliance with Bangladeshi law and professional ethics
All services follow applicable Bangladeshi mental-health laws and the ethical standards of the psychology profession. Therapists must maintain valid professional credentials and inform Chum Wellness of any change in their status.
Non-discrimination
We serve every client with equal respect. Therapists do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, disability or any basis prohibited by applicable law.
Working within competence
Therapists practise only within their areas of competence, and refer you to a more suitable professional when your needs fall outside their scope.
Confidentiality and consent
Client information is kept confidential under Bangladeshi law and professional ethics, and shared only with your written consent or where legally required. Informed consent is taken before therapy begins. See Confidentiality and Client Consent.
Accurate records
Therapists keep accurate, up-to-date and secure records of sessions, in line with professional standards and legal requirements.
