Banga Flavour & Fragrance: a Mental Health Day for the management team

Thank the team that keeps everything moving
Banga Flavour & Fragrance creates flavours, fragrances and specialty ingredients for bakery, beverage, confectionery, dairy and snack brands across Bangladesh. Its senior and management team leads production, quality, R&D and client delivery, work where speed and precision matter every day.
For World Mental Health Day, Banga's HR team wanted to do something meaningful for these leaders: say thank you, and give them practical ways to look after themselves under pressure. Not a lecture, but a day they would remember.
A day built around Banga's own world
We don't run the same slides for every company. For a flavour and fragrance maker, the day borrowed from the work these leaders know best.
A Flavour Wheel for feelings
Instead of a generic mood chart, the team described their week the way they describe a flavour.
Calm, from their own lab
A short breathing moment used scent strips from Banga's own lab: a small, familiar way to slow down.
A personal thank-you on every seat
Each leader found a note from the company recognising their years and what only they bring. The day began with being seen.
Moments from the day

From being seen to a plan of their own
One full day, onsite at Banga's Chattogram office, moving step by step from reflection to action.
- 1MorningArrive and feel seen
A welcome built on thanks, so people felt the day was for them.
- 2Late morningUnderstand pressure
How stress and burnout really show up at work, explored in small groups.
- 3AfternoonStrength and connection
Team activities where colleagues named what they value in each other.
- 4CloseCommit to one change
Each person chose their own next step, and wrote it down to keep.
Something real, not just notes
Every participant left with things they made or received during the day.
- A personal action planTheir own next step, chosen by them.
- A letter to their future selfSealed on the day and handed back a month later.
- Words from colleaguesStrengths their teammates see in them, in writing.
- Tools for pressureSimple techniques to use at their desk the next morning.
Nobody had to speak, and HR receives only an anonymous summary, never names.
Chum designed the day, prepared every material and ran it start to finish.
30 days of support for HR after the programme, so the day keeps working.
About Mental Health Day programmes for managers
What is a Mental Health Day programme for managers?
A day led by a licensed psychologist where a management team looks at the pressure that comes with their roles, learns practical ways to handle it, and leaves with a personal plan. Chum ran Banga's on World Mental Health Day, but the format works any time of year.
How is it different from a talk on burnout?
A talk explains. This day is built for taking part: small groups, activities and personal reflection, so people leave with something they made and will use, not just notes.
Can Chum run this outside Dhaka?
Yes. Banga's programme ran onsite at their Chattogram office. Chum runs programmes onsite across Bangladesh or online, in Bangla, English or both.
What does HR see afterwards?
Only a short anonymous summary of combined results. No names, and nobody is made to share anything in the room.
How long does it take?
Banga chose a full day for its senior team. Chum also runs 2-hour and half-day sessions, and year-round wellness programmes or an EAP.
How much work is it for HR?
Very little. Chum designs the day, prepares and brings all the materials, runs it with a licensed psychologist and supports HR afterwards. HR mainly picks the date and the room.
Bring a wellbeing programme to your team
EAP, workshops, wellness programmes and Mental Health First Aid, led by licensed psychologists across Bangladesh.
